Scary and Frustrating Saturday

Well this day was a lot different then we thought it would be. We were going to head up to Mantua for Little Valley Days, but there was just too much going on with Tom and work. So anyway Tom went into the office this morning for an appointment. Brindley and I were just hanging out doing our everyday stuff. Well I got out of the shower and she had taken her diaper off (once again). I told her she needed to come and put another one on. She ran away saying no! So I took her and layed her down, she threw a HUGE fit and through herself back and hit her head on the ground pretty hard and held her breath. She became purple in the face and i new she was going to pass out. After a very long mintue and a half she was acting very wierd almost like she was going to throw up or pass out again. I started to freak out! Then she started to scream so I knew that she had come out of it. AWWWW I was so scared! After she calmed down all she wanted to do was sleep. I wouldn't let her. If I would have she would have just slept on the floor. Which she NEVER does no matter how tired she was. Well I couldn't get a hold of Tom so I decided that I needed to take her inn. I took her to the Insta Care, they told me because she was so small I needed to take her to the ER!! GREAT!!!!!! So after waiting in the waiting room for a long time the doctor looked at her and said she looks just fine I really don't think its neccessary to do a Cat Scan on her if she throws up or acts totally not herself bring her back in.
So after talking to a few family members I found out something information that I didn't know before about STUBBORN RED HEADS!!! When my dad went with his mom to get clothes he would make himself passout. Also 2 of Toms brothers used to do the samething.
Well this isn't going to fly with me, she is not going to get away with passing out because she doens't get her way.
Brindley is such a sweet loving totally normal 2 year old. Tom and I love her more than anything. But I really can't handle going through that stress of her passing out!

That is so scary. I hate head injuries!! I'm glad she is okay. Being a redhead myself I know all about being stubborn. Now I have a 3 year old redhead who I have to say is even more stubborn than I am! STRESSFUL.

This is common in kids so (easier said than done...I know) but don't worry. When they cry so hard and hold their breath you should start blowing in their face and their natural instinct should be to inhale. It works most of the time, but not all the time. It's fine if they pass out they should quickly wake up. I'm sure you were freaking out...I can't imagine with my own child although I have seen it happen to a coulple kids. Just remember BLOW IN HER FACE! Love ya...

sounds like you were busy! i don't think its the hair color....i think its just a toddler! My nephew does the same thing and my sister in law has found that the best thing to do is ignore him. But....it's hard!! Best of Luck!
